Clutch Control & Bite Point
Clutch Control & Bite Point
No stalls, no kangarooing — slow feet, smooth hands.
The routine
Set the gas slightly (about 1,500 rpm / gentle hum).
Lift the clutch slowly to find the
bite
(nose dips, sound changes).
Hold
the bite. If the car wants to roll, keep the foot still.
Check mirrors & blind spot, signal if needed, then release the handbrake.
Ease the clutch up the last 1–2 cm as you add a fraction more gas.
Common fixes
Stall:
too little gas / clutch came up too fast. Reset calmly: neutral, start, set gas, re-find bite.
Vibration:
holding the car only with gas—raise clutch slightly to carry the load.
Kangaroo:
clutch yo-yo — freeze the ankle, add gentle gas.
